This garden was designed for a family with very young children. The clients wanted an inviting space, somewhere for the children to play, a place to entertain and a summerhouse. Water was introduced near the seating area to encourage wildlife and give a soothing sound. A willow wigwam was planted as a hiding place for the children, whilst expanses of lawn encouraged them to run wild. Formal beds near the house, backed with a mature beech hedge, were planted with a mixture of colourful perennials and shrubs for year round interest. Lighting was used to highlight key trees and bring the garden to life in the evenings.
