A place to play.
This corner of a primary school playground was designed to allow children to make the connection between play and nature - to use the things they found around them to make up their own games. It was not meant to be too tidy and features were kept simple and natural to encourage imaginative play. Granite boulders were added to be used as hiding places/monsters/cars or whatever the children wanted. Three play huts were grouped together under existing trees to make a 'village' whilst a large curving bench was installed to create an inviting place to sit and chat with friends.
